Is keto just another version of Atkins? Not exactly.
The Atkins diet calls for starting at 20 grams of carbohydrates with unlimited fat and protein daily slowly increasing carbohydrate intake each week.
The keto diet calls for starting at 20 grams of carbohydrates and then adjust up slowly to find your tolerance level, moderate down on the protein to determine your personal threshold, and then eat enough dietary fat to feel satiated.
So a chicken breast with broccoli is low-carb, but not ketogenic.
But a 6-ounce ribeye steak with a pat of butter on top along with broccoli and cheddar cheese melted on top makes an ideal low-carb, moderate protein, high-fat meal.
And now you know the difference between keto and Atkins. They are not the same.
