Do you suffer from the so-called “keto flu” when you shift your diet over to a healthy low-carb, moderate protein, high-fat approach?

The symptoms you are feeling can certainly be flu-like, but it’s not the flu at all. It’s actually something pretty common with keto when you first begin known as electrolyte imbalance.

This generally happens within that 2-4 week transition period of shifting your body over from being a sugar-burner to being a fat-burner. Once you are fully keto-adapted, these symptoms will very likely disappear.

To replenish your electrolytes during this transition, make sure you are getting plenty of water, sea salt, magnesium, and potassium. This will prevent the leg cramps, fatigue, and overall feeling of blah from happening.
